MANILA, Philippines — The easterlies and the northeast monsoon or amihan will bring cloudy skies and rains in several parts of the country on Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported.
In a 4 a.m. weather forecast, Pagasa weather specialist Obet Badrina said the easterlies, or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, will cause cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Islands in Caraga and Davao Oriental.
Article continues after this advertisement“Ito [easterlies] ay magdadala ng mga kaulapan na magdadala ng malaking tsansa ng mga pag-ulan at maulap na kalangitan, partikular na silangang bahagi ng Mindanao, ‘yung area ng Caraga at Davao region,” Badrina explained.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will continue to bring cloudy skies and light rains in Cagayan Valley and Aurora in Central Luzon, as well as in Quezon province in Southern Luzon.
