MANILA, Philippines—Carl Tamayo has been hitting his stride for Changwon after an up-and-down start to his young pro career in the Korean Basketball League (KBL).

Tamayo’s string of stellar performances certainly didn’t go unnoticed after being named MVP of the third round of the KBL season where the LG Sakers went 5-1.

The 23-year-old forward averaged 19.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 57 percent from the field in his last six games.

The torrid stretch also saw Tamayo score a career-high 37 and 31 points in back-to-back fashion.

Before his eight-point output in Changwon’s latest victory at the expense of Suwon on Monday, Tamayo finished in double-figure scoring for 11 consecutive games.

With Tamayo among its key players, the LG Sakers currently claim a share of third place with the Daegu KOGAS Pegasus in the standings at 16-13.
